HWIN is a hazardous waste management framework. It was put in place by the Ministry of the Environment to facilitate the registration of activities pertaining to hazardous waste by generators, carriers and receivers.  It also makes hazardous waste information more accessible to those companies.

ISO 14001 is a set of international standards on environmental management. These standards are intended to help companies create and put into practice policies and goals while ensuring that legal and environmental information is taken into consideration.

A Certificate of Approval is issued by the Ministry of the Environment.  The Certificate allows companies to receive and handle waste, as well as assume responsibility of proper disposal of that waste.
